Carry On by Ana

"It felt like reading a completely new version of Harry Potter, but with more romance."

Carry on by Rainbow Rowell

Hello my fellow booklions,

Today I’m going to discuss one of my favourite books EVER with you, and it’s called ‘Carry on’ by Rainbow Rowell. If any of you have read ‘Fangirl’ by Rainbow Rowell you would know that the main character loves to read. Her favourite books are about a wizard called Simon, which makes us all think about Harry Potter of course. This main character from ‘Fangirl’ also wrote a fanfiction about the main character Simon and his roommate Baz. This fanfiction is ‘Carry on’, and Rainbow wrote it for us. Let me tell you that this book is one of the best, cutest and loveliest books I’ve ever read. I seriously enjoyed it like no other romantic book.

So as I said the story is about Simon and Baz and their relationship with each other. But it’s also about a lot of other things, like defeating monsters, and their family and school life and magic. It’s like Harry Potter but with Draco Malfoy instead of Ginny, but it’s also totally different from The Harry Potter books because the magic they use and have is very different. It felt like reading a completely new version of Harry Potter, but with more romance.

The story is very broad for such a short book. We learn a lot about the world, the characters, the evils and about the magic they use. The humour is above average and I found myself crying of laughter at one time, which really says a lot about the book. The sarcasm is real and the characters really know how to use it. I think Rainbow did a really good job writing such a funny and sarcastic yet very explicit story. I also really enjoyed the romance. If you are into contemporary romance this will be really up your alley. I found myself rereading several chapters again and again because of how cute they were and how perfect it all seemed.

I would definitely read this book again and again just because I think the romance is to die for. The last thing I’m going to tell you is to read this story. It is so worth it and it really gave me a lot of positive good vibes and feelings while reading this. I’m not going to spoil you by talking about anything else!

I give this book 5 crosses!

Until next time, Ana.

P.s. I also heard that there might be a sequel coming, O M G!!!!
