Hoi lieve lezers!
Ik heb weer een super mooi contemporary young adult boek gelezen die ik echt met jullie moet delen! Het is een boek met een wat zwaarder thema, maar eentje die zeker de moeite waard is! Het boek gaat over een meisje die een psychose krijgt en verteld in detail wat er allemaal in haar hoofd om gaat. Een prachtige psychologische young adult roman.

Eerste Leven door Gena Showalter

Al vanaf het eerste hoofdstuk uit 'Eerste Leven' herinnerde ik me weer hoeveel plezier ik aan de Alice in Zombieland boeken van Gena Showalter had beleefd. Nu ook 'First Life' naar het Nederlands is vertaald, wilde ik er zo snel mogelijk in beginnen, en het verhaal pakte me meteen.

In the meantime I have been reading the sequel of “The Young Elites” and as I promised you I can conclude that, YES, it is better than the 1st book. With a solid 5 out of 5 crosses! Bow to Marie Lu, may you live a long and healthy happy life, filled with new book ideas and projects. 

Let’s start with an example of one of the quotes I enjoy sooo much about those books. They could be folklore tales, historical excerpts or personal quotes, located at the beginning of most of the chapters. Small details like that always make me feel even more captivated with the suggested fictional world. As it was said once “the devil is in the details”. Lu doesn’t disappoint here.

Als Selectie fan kun je het natuurlijk niet gemist hebben, Lang en Gelukkig! Een prachtige nieuwe bundel van alle novelles behorende bij De Selectie serie. Het boek is een echte aanvulling, ook nadat de novelles al in twee andere bundels waren uitgekomen. Deze bundel bevat namelijk prachtige illustraties om verliefd op te worden! En als extraatje bevat het boek ook nog eens niet eerder uitgegeven bonusmateriaal! Ik zal niet te veel verklappen, maar wat Kiera Cass allemaal met haar lezers deelt is hier echt bijzonder.

Hello my lovelies!

It is a foggy Maastricht Monday and everything feels just a bit darker so I would like to share some news that may just brighten your day!

As we promised you, we are not only book reviewers; we also want to keep you up to date with all the hot books coming out, but also the coolest bookish events near us. And if you are a true Dutch YA fan you may have heard of the Yalfest. And if not..well it is probably worth your while and this post is just for you J 

But let’s start from the beginning. Yalfest is what you would call a typical YA book event that we all have seen happening in US or UK. The event is organized by Blossom Books and Best of YA. Authors are present to answer your questions and sign your books (I know right? AWESOMEEEE!!), you have workshops organized and goodie bags are waiting for you at the entrance. It is a little bookish paradise <3

And to prove that to you I would make a short recap of the event last year. I found out about it a little too late (one week before the event) and I barely managed to buy tickets because it was already sold out. It was a long day of looking for people selling their tickets. I hope my post will give you a sufficient amount of time to plan your trip.

Wanneer Dorian besluit om met hem mee te gaan voor een beter leven op te bouwen, vraagt hij zich na een tijdje af of zijn leven op straat niet beter was dan waarin hij later allemaal verzeild raakt.
